2012 Community Outreach Projects
Holidays are a wonderful time for most. People gather with family and friends to open gifts and fellowship around the table. Office parties, holiday galas and festive events are all the talk. But thousands are suffering from lack of food, and shelter. During this season Cords of Life will be working to make the season just a little bit brighter for some of the less fortunate on the streets of our communities. Join with us as we provide hot food, warm clothes and basic necessities.
On December 22, 2012 Cords of Life will be distributing holiday hope in the form of care packages. Each package will contain a Christmas lunch, travel size toiletries, and a special gift. You can support us in this effort by donating toiletries, new socks or warm gloves.
Cords of Life Inc. is collecting donations of nonperishable food items and cash donations to distribute Thanksgiving food boxes to needy families. For more information on donating, volunteering, or receiving a food box contact Cords of Life Inc. at 404-345-8877.
Each box contains enough to feed a family of four on Thanksgiving Day
Blanket and Coat Drive
No one deserves to be cold during the harsh winter months. Statistics show when the body is cold, most of the body's energy is used to keep the internal temperature warm. Over time, the body will begin to shift blood from the extremities (hands, feet) and outer skin to the core (center) of the body. This process allows the exposed skin to cool rapidly and increases the risk of frost-bite.
Please help us, help those that are homeless or without heat during the winter months. Cords of Life is collecting clean and gently used coats and blankets. Our coat and blanket drive takes place from Oct 1, 2012 - January 16, 2013. We will began distributing coats and blankets the week before Thanksgiving and continue until the 3rd week of January, 2013.
Please email us at Cords Of Life to partner with us or to let us know you have coats and/or blankets for pickup.
A special Thank you to One Warm Coat and Burlington Coat Factory for helping to make this drive a success. Over 350 coats were donated.
